University of Potsdam: The University of Potsdam, the largest university in the state of Brandenburg, is oriented towards interdisciplinary research profiles in combination with several extramural research institutions in the natural sciences, human sciences, the humanities and the social sciences. Research and teaching mutually reinforce high quality and attractiveness. They form the foundation for the transfer of knowledge and technology, as well as the Start-up Service, which focuses on the needs of society and the labour market.
Sustainable Innovations is a Spanish consultancy firm that provides innovative services to a wide range of sectors across Europe: bio-based industry, energy, industry 5.0, circular economy and advanced materials, among others. The core competencies offered by Sustainable Innovations are structured in two main pillars which bridge the gap between the ideas and the market. On one hand, the R&D management area offers expertise in grant writing, project integration, and advisory services. On the other hand, we are involved in EU project execution, leading several tasks revolving around communication, exploitation, and project administration.
Idener: Idener is a team of engineers, scientists and software developers exploring the potential of AI for solving challenging science and engineering problems. To do so, we are using an extended interpretation of AI which fuses machine learning, systems modelling, advanced control and mathematical optimization. And with that, we aim to create – new, better, sustainable – technologies and business models to ultimately contribute to the human development.
Uppsala University: Founded in 1477, Uppsala University is the oldest university in Sweden. With more than 50,000 students and 7,500 employees in Uppsala and Visby, UU is a broad university with research in social sciences, humanities, technology, natural sciences, medicine and pharmacology. DTU National Food Institute is a leading force in promoting healthy, safe, and sustainable food solutions through groundbreaking research. The institute’s vision focuses on generating future prosperity by preventing diseases, promoting health, and developing innovative food products for a growing global population. Operating at the intersection of various disciplines, such as nutrition, chemistry, toxicology, microbiology, epidemiology, modeling, and technology, the institute utilizes a collaborative approach.
Beyond research, DTU National Food Institute actively addresses global challenges, providing scientific advice to public authorities and businesses. The institute translates its research into practical innovation, offering valuable solutions for societal benefit. Additionally, education is a key component, in preparing students for careers in food technology, food safety, and nutrition. KU Leuven: KU Leuven is dedicated to education and research in nearly all fields. Its fifteen faculties offer classes and degree-granting academic programmes, whilst research activities are organised by departments and research groups. These faculties and departments are clustered into three thematic groups: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), and Biomedical Sciences. Each of these groups sponsors its own doctoral school for organising and awarding doctoral degrees.
FOTOSINTETICA & MICROBIOLOGICA: F&M commercializes several cultivation systems: glass bubble columns for inocula production, the Green Wall Panel (GWP®) series for research and large scale production, race-way ponds. F&M’s deep knowledge along with proprietary photobioreactor technologies (GWP®) and a collection of over 1200 microalgal and cyanobacterial strains, makes it the ideal partner for starting applied research and commercial activity on microalgae.
E3-MODELLING: E3-Modelling is a société anonyme (S.A.) company, established as a knowledge-intensive consulting company spin-off of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The company inherits staff, knowledge and software-modelling innovation of the laboratory E3MLab of (NTUA). It specialises in the delivery of consulting services based on large-scale empirical modelling of the nexus economy-energy-environment such as PRIMES and GEM-E3.
University of Copenhagen: Driven by intellectual creativity and critical thinking since 1479, researchers and students at the University of Copenhagen have expanded horizons and contributed to moving the world forward. With its 5,000 researchers and 37,500 students, the University boasts an international research and study environment and is highly ranked on the leading ranking lists of the world’s best universities.
SkyNRG: a trailblazer in Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) since 2010, is spearheading the aviation industry’s shift towards a carbon-neutral future by 2050. The company actively sources, blends, and distributes SAF globally, with notable achievements including being the first to supply SAF on a commercial flight in 2011. Committed to sustainability, SkyNRG collaborates with partners to increase global SAF production and is developing dedicated production plants in the Netherlands and the United States. Guided by an Independent Sustainability Board and certified by entities like the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) and CORSIA, SkyNRG is a driving force in advancing sustainable practices in aviation.
AddScience:
AddScience Sweden AB conducts contract research and development, analytical and consulting services for industry and society, as well as public research with a focus on sustainable transition and bio-based products. AddScience specializes in chemical problem solving in the material, product and process areas, where we combine our knowledge and experience with both classical and state of the art analytical chemistry tools, such as GC-MS, in-house designed instruments and test rigs. Areas that we have worked in in the past with both problem solving and development are e.g. electronics, chemical processes, surface treatment, medical technology, quality monitoring, product durability/lifetime, food, water treatment, material emissions, biogas, recycling and algae cultivation. AddScience shares the Industridoktorn® trademark with four additional companies in the area of chemistry and microbiology, operating out of newly built laboratory premises on Björkö in the northern archipelago of Gothenburg, Sweden.
University of Florence: The University of Florence stands as one of the largest institutions in the Italian university system, providing a comprehensive range of programs across various disciplines. With offerings in scientific, biomedical, technological, humanities, and social sciences, the university boasts over 200 programs spanning bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, 5 or 6-year combined cycle degrees in the first and second cycles, and doctorates, specialization courses, and other post-graduate courses in the third cycle. The coordination and management of these diverse academic endeavors are handled by the university’s 10 Schools.
