ALFAFUELS PROJECT CELEBRATES ITS FIRST REVIEW MEETING WITH EUROPEAN COMMISSION

On 24 September, the ALFAFUELS consortium held its first Review Meeting with Project Officer Sara Navarro from the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). This important milestone marked the conclusion of the first 18 months of the project, during which partners showcased the progress achieved across all technical Work Packages.

The meeting provided a platform for presenting results in areas such as model-driven process optimisation, biorefinery and zero-waste processing, process upscaling, photochemical process development, and sustainability assessments. Each Work Package leader highlighted achievements, challenges, and future steps, demonstrating the collective commitment to advancing sustainable aviation fuel pathways.

The session was highly enriching, generating constructive debates, insightful questions, and valuable suggestions from the European Commission. These inputs will help guide the next stages of ALFAFUELS, ensuring that the project continues to align with European goals for innovation, sustainability, and climate neutrality.
